I'm making this before there's a thousand different recommendations threads createdxD

1. Recommend an anime here ***You must give a reason why you recommend it... Not just OMG! Its awesome. Give at least its Genre, one reason why someone would want to watch it, and compare it to another anime like it.

2. Ask for reccomendations~ It could be fore "Good Romance anime" Or "Anime like Lucky Star" Ect~

My first reccomendations is Ruruouni Kenshin.... because OMG! ITS AWESOME!!1!1!!!!

Genre: Action, Drama, Romance, Oro

Is my favorite anime=3
Is about an Ex- Samuraish Assassin/Manslayer during the war... who has become a wonderer for unknown reasons. Just as he believe life is starting to become peaceful, and he has friends and love, his life is turned upside down by crazy insane fighters that want to overthrow Japan.

+ Nice Samurai Fights
+ Nice Kenshin<3 Characters
+ Very good plot
- Last season is filler... series was never completed to you'd have to read the manga.

Kind of Like Trigun... Kenshin and Vash Specifically... they want LOVE AND PEACE =3~ Just replace guns with swords in Meiji Era Japan.

My first recommendation would be Gunslinger Girl:

Genre: Drama, Romance, Tragedy

Synopsis: A government organization in Italy known as the Social Welfare Agency uses the pretense of helping victimized or disabled children, giving them new lives, as a front to cover up their true purpose: to seek and eliminate terrorist threats or assassinate terrorist figures and supporters. The first season of the anime chronicles the lives of 5 (later 6) girls in particular, who have been given cybernetic implants and act as assassins and field agents for the SWA. The series highlights their relationships with their "handlers" as well as their struggle to live as normal girls do.

+Touching, heartbreaking, and sometimes romantic story
+Detailed characters with varying histories and dimensions
+Harsh inner struggles and outer conflicts
+Nice depiction of setting
-Despite the title, the anime is not heavily focused on action
-Some blood and some disturbing images

It has been compared to Elfen Lied in terms of dark story elements, but is nowhere near as gory, and with absolutely no nudity and very few sexual themes. I would also compare it to Witch Hunter Robin for its serious tone and development of characters. However, I think it's important to note that Gunslinger Girl is far more down to earth than either Elfen Lied or Witch Hunter Robin.

guess my first recommendation would be Genshiken
Genre: Comedy

Synopsis:Sasahara Kanji is a college freshman who decides to join a student society to share his hidden thoughts on manga, anime and gaming.

When he first visited Genshiken, short for "Gendai Shikaku Bunka Kenkyuu Kai" (Society for the Study of Modern Visual Culture), his groundless pride was destroyed by the plotting of Madarame, a sophomore student in Genshiken, but he still couldn't admit that he is an otaku.

However, as he participates in society activities such as visiting dojin (private publishing) shops and anime festivals, and hangs out with other society members Kosaka (a hardcore otaku despite his extreme eccentricities and good looks), Kosaka's girlfriend Kasuga Saki (who isn't really an otaku), Ohno (a cosplayer) and the others, he opens his mind and resolves that he will make his way into the otaku world. With their help, Sasahara slowly adjusts to otaku life in Genshiken.

- sometimes has crude humor (if u can call that a downside)

Hey ya animelovers
can someone suggest animes that has either: comedy, romance, slice-of-life or all?
(So far, I have Honey&Clover, Midori no hibi, Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge, Basilisk, xxxHolic)

^ If you like Slice of life like Honey and clover I recommend
Bokura ga Ita ---> Love in a school (its so hard to summarize Slice of life anime x)

My favorite Slice of life/romance/comedy anime of all time though is
Kare Kano (His and Her circumstances)
Its about a girl who thought she was perfect all her life, who runs into a guy that may be even more perfect than she is. She starts to realize that she's being lieing her whole life and doesn't even know herself... that she was just living so she could be praised. She falls in love and tries to discover her true self.
+ Very Funny xD
+ The love story is cute... but still realistic
- The animation budget drops towards then endxD
- The anime was never completed so you need to read the manga to see the end (Which is amazing so I highly suggest you do)

If you like Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge I suggest:
Ouran High School Host Club:
A poor girl gets into a private rich high school through a scholarship. She doesn't care alot about her looks so she looks like a guy. She is looking for a quiet place to study and stumbles into the "host club"~ a club of Hot guys who want to entertain girls... she accidently breaks a very expensive vase... and she is blackmailed into entering the host club (as a male) to pay off the debt.
+ Funniest Reverse Harem I've ever seen
+ Awesome Characters (omg Tamaki<3)
- Anime not completed... you need to read the manga

Mushishi:
In older Japan a man with the power to see the "mushishi" (weird ghostly/bug things) travels and collects stories and rare items. Basically each story starts with someone with a problem and he fixes it... is very similar to xxxholic <3
+ Very creative stories
+ Very nice animation
+/- Mellow... can be a good or bad thing... will put you to sleep maybexD

I also reccomend Pet shop of horrors... although it is very short
Its about a chinese man who owns a petshop. The pets he gives away are mythological creatures~ and people come to him to have the pets solve their problems (For example if a child dies they buy a pet to replace them). When they but the pet~ they must make a contract~ if they break this contract... very bad things will happen to them. The shop and owner remind me ALOT of Yuuko xD
+ Creative interesting Horror Plot
- Only 4 episodes

Anime Similar to Basilisk:
Rurouni Kenshin (described in my first post)~ Specifically "Samurai X" Ova's... which have a very similar aura to Basilisk.

I also Highly Recommend Berserk =3
About a man with a Huge sword... but a miserable past (Born from the corpse of his mother who was hung from a tree... then his foster mom contracts the plague... and his foster dad sells him into prostitution and tries to kill him) ANYWAYS~ He joins an army trying to save this medieval world and make a new order... Lots of fighting and action Plus a philosophical story... one of my favorite anime.
+ Good Action
+ Good Characters
+ Pretty Deep
- Not completed... you have to read the manga (which after THAT ending you'll want to xD)

theres so many i dont even know where to start:

if you ever want to watch romance, the ones i listed are really good. All I watch is romance just about most of the time x3

its basically about these 7 top students at their school and everyday life. i gotta say all of the characters are amazing, even including some of the 'bad' guys. i remember i couldn't wait until the next episode. but yeah there's bunch of comedy, and of course, romance between like bunch of chracters lol

It's all about a really tall girl and a really short guy and the feelings they start developing for each other. Major comedy and romance for this one because I laughed alott lol. The only reason why i gave it a 8 on MAL was because it did get alittle frustrating throughout the series when the guy wouldn't like the girl and how hard she was trying to make him to like him. but thats just me, i dont like it when guys do that so it bothered me (like bokura ga ita).

..and thats all i can think of for now lol

Akane-iro ni Somaru Saka

Genre : romance, school life, comedy

the story is simply about marriage interview. the male character is going to have a fiance whom he doesn't even recognize in the first place coz his father's fault.and so it goes, the adaptation between this new couple. is that all? no it isn't. the fact is his younger sister in love with him too... sometimes get soooo romantic, sometimes funny, and sometimes make your heart races...

I bet many people have seen this...Shugo chara! & Shugo chara!! Doki...it's one of the best, funniest, most romantic and there's pretty much magic and some great music when Hoshina Utau sings and Ikuto playes his violin omg<333 totally loooost when he does that
