Title: Sword of the Stranger (movie)
Genres: Action, drama
Themes: Samurai
Plot Summary: Hunted by the Mings from China, young Kotaro and his dog meet a nameless samurai ("Nanashi") who is constantly being haunted by dreams of the past which lead him to seal his sword. Among the Mings is a fiercesome Western fighter named Rarou, who desires only to find a worthy opponent. When both groups clash with a Sengoku-era feudal lord, a proud general, and monks torn between faith and survival, the reason behind the Mings' pursuit tests the bond between Kotaro and Nanashi.

Personal note/opinion: One of the all time best anime movies I've seen. The art and characters designs are beautiful, the action is smooth and flawless, and the voice acting (original; haven't had a chance to see the english version yet) couldn't be better.
Watching the film, I totally fell in love with Kotaro and Nanashi (and the pup too) and had the hardest time fighting back the tears at the end ;A;

I totally recommend this movie to all fans of anime~

Personal note/opinion: Some of you may think its crazy to recommend an anime such as Generator Gawl after something like Sword of the Stranger, but personally I felt that the series was a great, fun watch.
Generator Gawl is the classic old school anime and will really bring back fond memories of the anime in the 90s (or at least it did for me). Not having seen the series before a couple months ago, it really gave me that hidden treasure feel and, to my suprise, made me long for the series great sense of humor and quirks that are lacking in the anime series of today.
